Licensed Clinical Psychologist | Marriage and Family Therapist

My professional focus includes offering psychotherapy services to adult clients and providing valuable clinical supervision and consultations. Furthermore, I am a part-time professor at National University.

get to know me

I am a first-generation Latino born in Los Angeles, CA to immigrant parents, specifically from Mexico. My Mexican heritage has always been a source of pride for me. Through my upbringing, I have cultivated fluency in both English and Spanish, allowing me to communicate effectively in both languages. Despite my background, I acknowledge that my knowledge of Latino culture is not exhaustive, and I approach my practice with a commitment to embracing cultural humility.

With 15+ years of experience, through my professional journey, I have gained invaluable experience serving individuals in community mental health agencies contracted with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, DCFS, and probation. My practice involved offering psychotherapeutic support to a diverse range of clients, including children, teenagers, and adults from underprivileged and marginalized communities. Over the years, my areas of focus have encompassed issues like depression, anxiety, immigration, acculturation struggles, trauma, and complex family dynamics.

Transitioning into private practice has allowed me to place my primary focus on assisting adults in overcoming trauma, anxiety, depression, sex and intimacy issues, and relationship complexities. Additionally, I conduct immigration evaluations for survivors of crime (U Visas), abuse, and other adversities, offering a comprehensive approach to mental health and well-being.

an inclusive approach

I provide a trauma-informed, safe space. I specialize in working with LGBTQA+ and people of color (POC) who have had traumatic experiences. When it is helpful for you, a systemic approach is incorporated to help heal intergenerational traumas affecting interpersonal relationships & psychological well-being.
